This is a working draft of our public rules. It is written to be fair and readable. It is not a substitute for independent legal advice. By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
PC Flipper is a UK marketplace noticeboard for complete PCs, PC parts, and related services (build, repair, install, pickup). Listings are ads. You can browse as a guest. You need an account to post, message, watch, or review.
We do not take payment between buyers and sellers. We do not hold money, offer escrow, or process card payments for sales. A sale, if it happens, is a contract between the buyer and the seller only. We are not a party to it.
Listing fees may be introduced later. Until then, posting is free. If fees start, we will say so clearly on the site and in an update to these Terms.
Prices on the site are in pounds sterling (£).
You must be 18 or over to create an account, post, or buy/sell through contacts made on PC Flipper. You must give a real name and a working email. Do not share your password. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us via the site if you think it has been misused. We may refuse, suspend, or ban accounts that break these rules, scam others, or put the community at risk. A ban may end your access to posting and messaging; we do not have to give a public reason beyond what is fair to tell you.
You may window-shop without an account: browse ads and open listing pages. Guests cannot post listings, send messages, use a watchlist, or use My Ads. If you try to contact a seller or otherwise interact, we will ask you to sign in or join. Signing up means you agree to these Terms.
When you post an ad you promise that: you have the right to sell or offer what you describe; the title, photos, price, specs, condition, and location are honest and not misleading; goods are not stolen, counterfeit, or illegal to sell in the UK; you will not bait-and-switch (different item, hidden defects, fake "sold" to farm reviews). Photos: up to 8 per listing. We may compress them. You must own the photos or have permission to use them. Do not use stock images of a different item. AI descriptions: the "Use AI to write description" button builds copy from the fields you filled in. It does not inspect the PC. You must read and correct it before you publish. You remain responsible for the ad. Status: you may keep an ad Active or Hidden. Inactive is set by the system after 2 months. Inactive ads leave the public market. We will tell you this when you create the ad, and we will send you an in-app message when it happens. You may review the ad and repost; the 2-month timer starts again. Date added (day month year) stays the original date so others can see how old the ad is. Sold: when you mark an item Sold you may optionally name the buyer (we suggest people you have messaged about that ad). You can skip. Naming a buyer is how we know there was a sale between you, which unlocks direct reviews for that deal. We may remove ads that break these rules, look like spam, or harm other users.
Messages are for arranging a genuine sale, service, or question about an ad. Do not harass, spam, phish, or share other people's private details. Meeting in person (pickup) is your choice and your risk. Meet in a public place if you can. Inspect the item before you pay. We are not there and cannot make a seller show up or a buyer pay. Shipping is arranged between you. We do not provide postage or insurance.
We want reviews that help the next person, not weapons. One review each way per completed sale (buyer → seller and seller → buyer, once per listing). That stops someone dumping several 1-star or several fake 5-star comments for the same deal. If you have a completed sale together (the seller named the buyer on that Sold ad, or another sold listing links you), the review goes live immediately. The other person cannot bury a legitimate sale review. If you have no sale history together, the review is sent to the other person for approval. It is not public until they approve it. They may decline. You may have at most one pending stranger-review towards the same person at a time. Reviews must be about the deal or the person as a trading partner. No hate, threats, or doxxing. We may hide reviews that break this. You can also review from a profile following the same rules.
PC Flipper is meant to be a fair marketplace: we do not take a cut of the sale price (we stay out of the money); ads should describe the real item; AI copy must not invent specs you did not enter; expired ads leave the market so the board does not fill with ghosts; reviews are limited per sale so they cannot be used to pile on. If we get something wrong, use in-app contact / messages and we will look.
Do not: list stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, or illegal goods; list weapons, drugs, or anything the law forbids; scrape the site, harvest emails, or run bots against us; impersonate someone else or a brand; upload malware or abuse our servers; game reviews, use sockpuppet accounts, or trade fake feedback; use PC Flipper branding (logo, wordmark, mascot) as if it were yours. We may delete content and close accounts that do this.
The PC Flipper name, logo, GPU wordmark, mascot, and site design belong to us. You may not copy them except to share your own ad using the share tools we provide. You keep the rights in photos and text you post. You give us a licence to host, display, compress, and share them as part of showing and promoting the ad on PC Flipper (including listing-as-ad share). You can remove an ad; cached copies and shares already made may remain for a while.
Because we do not take the money and we are not the seller: we are not liable for the quality, safety, or delivery of items or services listed; we are not liable for buyers who do not pay or sellers who do not hand over the goods; UK consumer law still applies between buyer and seller where they are a consumer and a trader. Private sales have different rights. Know who you are dealing with. We provide the site "as is". We will try to keep it up, but we do not promise no downtime. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability to you for using the site is limited to £100 or the listing fees you have paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is higher. We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. You agree to reimburse us for losses we suffer because you broke these Terms or the law (including claims from other users about your ads).
We store the account you create, your listings, photos, messages, watchlist, and reviews so the site can work. We do not sell your inbox to advertisers. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy. Guests can browse without an account; we still need basic technical data to serve pages.
We will update these Terms as the product grows (for example if listing fees start, or identity checks land). The date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms. If a change is material, we will say so on the site.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without limiting any consumer rights you have to go to court where you live in the UK.
We have not attached paid email mailboxes to the domains yet. Use the Contact page and in-app messages. Domains: pcflipper.co.uk and pcflipper.uk.
